Will Be Updating LawLine Course on Protecting IP from New Forms of Online Infringements

On September 17, 2012, I along with my colleague Don Prutzman [1] presented a program at the firm entitled How to Protect Your Intellectual Property from New Forms of Online Infringements and Brand Attacks [2].

I outlined why online infringement is a growing problem, what efforts have been made to combat it and then suggested ways to protect brands in the age of social media. Don then explained the different paths that infringement cases can take and we ended by talking about how to choose a domain name and cybersquatting.

A lot has happened in the past three years in this area; new forms of infringement have appeared as well as new ways to respond to them. Therefore Don and I will be updating this program next month for posting on Lawline. Stay tuned.
